I am participating in this leadership program because my grandpa, Odie Kennedy, died of Cancer. He was diagnosed with MDS Cancer in March of 2013. Odie fought the cancer for 10 months but was unable to shake it. He passed away in December of 2013. Now more than ever, we need to take initiative and shine light on this deadly disease. I am fighting for people like my grandpa who have had their life cut short because of cancer. All cancers are positively impacted by the innovative research, advocacy, and fundraising efforts of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
