The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

While no one in my family has had blood cancer specifically, I have close members of my family that have had stomach, skin, and breast cancer, those being both of my grandmothers and my dad’s father who passed away. These cancers benefit greatly from the research that is carried out with blood cancer. Like I mentioned earlier, nobody in my family has experienced Leukemia first hand, but I still have people I know that have gone through this terrible disease. This being one of my brother’s fourth grade classmates, Tess Daines. She was diagnosed with leukemia when she was in first grade and only 6 years old, and has been fighting it ever since. Cancer affects every person, no matter the age. I am fighting for people like my grandmothers, my dad’s father, and Tess! Will you help me make an impact?

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

• Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
