Texas Gulf Coast Students of the Year
Alexis Paget
Welcome to Alexis Paget's SOY Fundraising Page!
This year, I am honored to be nominated as a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2018 Students of the Year Campaign.
The Students of the Year campaign is a six-week fundraising competition to raise money to support LLS. I was nominated by my mom, Stephanie Moritz, who was the 2017 Woman of the Year Runner-Up. LLS’s mission is dear to our family, and I am excited to be taking on the same great cause and doing my part to make a difference that is bigger than myself.
Team Crush, my fundraising team, and I have great ambitions for the good of this cause and together with your help and support we are looking forward to “Crushing Cancer”!
Driven by the sadness in my heart of losing my grandfather "Bobpa" from Acute Myeloid Leukemia, I have always searched for a meaningful way to turn our tragic loss into triumph by honoring his memory. Even though my time with him was cut short, his impact on my life was one I will never forget. When my mom came to me and asked me if I’d like to take on this special campaign, I had no hesitation. My grandfather's presence remains with me in every aspect of my life and this is finally how, I too, could honor him in the way in which he deserves.
Please help Team Crush to honor my grandfather’s memory and the countless individuals that have been affected by blood cancers by making a donation to my fundraising campaign.
Aside from donations, we would love to hear from you or someone you know who would be willing to donate goods or services for auction items, sponsorships, matching opportunities, tickets/tables to the Grand Finale on Friday, March 2nd at Hotel Derek, or other possible fundraising opportunities.
Thank you in advance for supporting Team Crush. I am looking forward to sharing my journey for the next 6 weeks and seeing the possibilities of my team making an impact on this terrible disease. On behalf of all blood cancer patients and families everywhere, thank you so much for your love and support!
Until there is a cure,
Alexis Paget
