On July 12, 2009 Tatum's family was notified of some grim news; their youngest daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia. During this time Tatum was just three years old. After overcoming many challenges and sacrificing many goals Tatum overcomed leukemia. Stories like these have inspired me in joining the Student of the Year campaign.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the largest voluntary cancer reasearch center. The money that you donate helps LLS to fund hundreds of researchers at leading cancer centers and universities worldwide. Your donation will help to encourage scientists to pursue blood cancer research, develop specific therapies that kill cancer cells selectively, test immunotherapies and so much more.
