Dear Supporters & Friends,

I am very excited to announce that I have been nominated as a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Students of the Year campaign. Thursday, January 14^th is the official kick off date for my 7 week journey to help find a cure for cancer.

The Leukemia Warriors, my fundraising team, and I have great hope for this cause. Together, with your help and support, we are looking forward to raising funds for this great organization.

            I picked “Fight for a Cure” as our team motto to emphasize why I am doing this campaign. I think it serves as motivation for our team to remember what we are doing all of this for. It is our goal to raise as much money as possible between now and Friday, March 5^th!

I am running my campaign to fight for my friend Diego and all of the children that have to go through what he is going through. 2020 has been a tough year for all of us but especially for Diego. My friend Diego was diagnosed with cancer in September 2020. He thought he had Strep throat, but when Diego went to the doctors, he was diagnosed with AML Leukemia. His fight and drive to beat cancer have inspired me to go out and help him and other cancer patients in any way possible. I want to help not just Diego, but all kids that have to go through this. I want to keep fighting and helping until there is a cure, so nobody has to go through what my friend Diego and his family are going through. The Student of the Year campaign marches all of my values and goals, and I believe it is a phenomenal organization that is constantly fighting to end the fight with cancer.

None of this is fair and needs to STOP. The suffering needs to END. This is why the effective research that LLS is able to do is so important. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is truly changing the face of cancer and research. The survival rate of researched blood cancers has more than doubled. My 7-week campaign will give LLS the opportunity to continue fighting this disease. I cannot do this alone; I need your help.

Please make your check payable to “The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society” and print “SOY Jackson Todd” in the “memo” portion of the check. The deadline for receiving contributions in the mail is March 3rd. Please note: your donations are tax deductible.

You can also help me raise funds by inviting your friends, family and everyone in your networks to join us by making a donation. Aside from donations, we would love to hear from you or someone you know who would be willing to donate goods or services for auction items, would like to sponsor the Grand Finale on Friday, March 5^th via Zoom, or other possible fundraising opportunities.
