Eliza's Students of the Year Fundraiser
There's one day until kick-off, so I thought I'd share one of the amazing things LLS does that is near and dear to my heart. The children's initiative is so important because, despite the fact that 40% of pediatric cancers are blood cancers, only four oncology drugs have been approved for use in children in the last 40 years. This is not enough. 80% of childhood cancer survivors develop at least one chronic health condition because of their treatment.
Please join me in fighting for proper treatment for my cousin and all other children that have battled cancer. Kids shouldn't have to fight cancer and they definitely shouldn't have to fight lifelong conditions because of their treatment.
Eliza's Students of the Year Fundraiser!
Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page!
Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. By donating to LLS, you support future and current cancer patients. My appreciation for your support cannot be overstated — each and every dollar donated to LLS brings us closer to our goal to end blood cancer and makes an impact on cancer patients and their families.
What is LLS?
As a global leader in the fight to end cancer, LLS is committed to doing more for blood cancer patients and families than any organization in the world. LLS’s signature fundraising campaigns drive critical support for its mission, including a nearly $1.3 billion investment in cutting edge cancer research worldwide since it was founded in 1949. Since the 1960s, survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled, or even quadrupled.
Every facet of LLS’s mission – research, education and support, and policy and advocacy – all work to put blood cancer patients and their families first. LLS has helped millions impacted by cancer throughout its more than 70-year history, even funding breakthrough blood cancer research to advance lifesaving treatments and cures that is now helping patients with other cancers and diseases.
My Story
My cousin, Benjamin was diagnosed with leukemia when he was seven. I felt scared and confused and helpless. Benjamin is wonderful. He's silly, competitive, and very sweet. Luckily, he's doing great and stopped chemotherapy in April of 2019. However, I was still wishing I could have done more. A few years later, I found this opportunity and I knew this was something tangible I could do to support Benjamin and other cancer patients.
This mission means so much to me. Especially because the medicine that saved Benjamin's life is over thirty years old and will most likely cause damage when he is older. No seven year old deserves to go through that. No one does.
All the cousins!
What Can You Do?
Please donate whatever you can, every cent makes a difference (never underestimate the power of $20!). Please visit my website as often as you can and share it with everyone you know who would also like to join us in the fight against cancer. Together, we have the power to say goodbye to blood cancer. All donations are tax-deductible.
On behalf of cancer patients and their families everywhere, I sincerely thank you for your support!
