I am overjoyed, and overwhelmingly honored, to announce I have the opportunity to use my voice, will, and passion to change the world around me for the better.

I have been nominated to participate as a Team Captain for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Students of the Year Campaign. I am running as a Co-Captain with my good friend Will Wozny and our equally amazing and passionate friends, many of whom have been impacted directly or indirectly by Leukemia or other cancers, that make our awesome team: 

TEAM REUNITED. 

We are UNITED in our fight and committment to help put an end to this terrible disease.  The Students of the Year campaign (SOY) is a seven-week fundraising competition to raise money and awareness for LLS. The world is in a period of change and uncertainty, and it is the responsibility of us fortunate enough to be able to help to use our compassion, hearts, and minds, to create impact. Right now, CoronaVirus is looming behind the Zoom screen of all of our lives, and if anything, the virus has taught us how alike we are and how important it is to be there for one another. Today, I am writing to ask your support of our campaign and LLS’s mission to uncover cures for blood cancers and to assist patients and their families. We have been given this extraordinary opportunity to come together, however, 

I cannot do it without YOUR support.

Every nine minutes, someone’s wife, father, best friend loses their life to cancer. I know what it is like to have your family splintered by illness, and I never want anyone else to have to suffer through losing their loved ones. I am running in honor of Jackson Caserma, a seven year old boy whose determination, spirit, and smile will never be forgotten in my heart. Thanks to the help of people like you, on December 16th, 2019, Jackson overcame his fight with Cancer and now is free to grow up. Jackson’s story is proof.

LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled.

And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!
