Layla McGrady | Lights Out for Leukemia
Welcome to Layla McGrady's SOY Fundraising Page!
Thank you all so so much for your support!!
Not only are you helping my team, Lights Out For Leukemia, but you are helping in the research and finding a cure for this terrible disease! Blood cancers cause the most deaths in children ages 20 and under. I am incredibly passionate about my generation and how we impact the future, WE ARE THE FUTURE!! When I heard that I was nominated to be a candidate, without hesitiation, I jumped right in and asked how I could help in any way!
Again, thank you so much for your support and believing in us! You are greatly appreciated!
-Layla McGrady
Welcome to Layla McGrady's SOY Fundraising Page!
Today, 1.2 million Americans are fighting or are in remission from blood cancers and every 3 minutes another person unwillingly joins the fight. I have been given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join the battle and help those living with blood cancers. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has nominated me as a candidate in their 4th annual Student of the Year fundraising challenge, and I could not be more excited to make a difference in the lives of patients across the country. I am proud to lead my campaign team and work towards our goal to raise $150,000 during the next 7 weeks - from January 8th to February 28th.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the largest contributor to blood cancer research in the nation. I am honoring those who have battled blood cancers and raising money that will go directly to LLS in support of its longstanding mission to find a cure and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS has invested over $1.3 billion in research to date. Along with my team, I will work to increase awareness about the impact of blood cancers and the cutting edge treatments that are currently being researched, as well as inspire others to join the fight to find a cure.
It would mean so much to me if you would consider donating to our campaign. These donations mean a lot to me because not only does it help and improve blood cancer research, it also helps children my age and younger. This is very important because I am very passionate about my generation living and telling their stories. These stories can help and impact so many others struggling with cancer and fortunately, with the help of your donations we are one step closer to finding a cure and knocking the lights out of Leukemia!
If you would prefer to mail your donation, please use the enclosed pre-addressed envelope. Please make your check payable to: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and print “Layla McGrady” in the “Memo” section. The deadline for receiving contributions is February 27th. Please note: your donations are tax deductible.
Aside from donations, we would love to hear from you or someone you know who would be willing to donate goods or services for auction items, sponsorships, ads, or other possible fundraising opportunities. Large or small, your contribution to this worthy effort will be greatly appreciated!
Help be part of the cure and help my team compete in the Student of the Year campaign. For more information, please contact me at 281-628-4304 or laylaone@icloud.com. For more information about LLS and Student of the Year, please visit, https://studentsoftheyear.org/students-year-houston-0.
