Avendo 18 anni, mi sento come se il mondo intero fosse nelle mie mani. La mia giovinezza mi fa sentire piena di opportunità e gioia dando un senso di infinito alla mia vita. Ho tempo per fare errori, scoprire chi sono e trovare il mio posto in questo mondo.
Mia cugina, Elena, tuttavia, non è stata cosi fortunata. Aveva solo 18 anni quando le fu diagnosticata la leucemia acuta 4^ stadio. Ha combattuto per tre mesi. Senza preavviso, Elena ha avuto la sua vita e i sogni strappati via da lei.

Lo sto facendo per lei, Elena. Per le persone che hanno perso la battaglia o continuano la battaglia mentre state leggendo.

Ho aderito alla campagna degli "Studenti dell’Anno 2020" della Società della Leucemia e Linfoma (LLS) e nelle prossime 7 settimane lavorerò per raccogliere fondi e sensibilizzare le persone a supportare la missione per la cura dei tumori del sangue.

Il mio obiettivo personale è raccogliere $5000 per il 28 febbraio. Non posso farlo da sola; Ho bisogno del tuo aiuto.

Dear friends and family,

Being 18, I feel as if the whole world is in my hands. I have been blinded by my youth through the opportunities and the joys that have made my life seem endless. I have time to make mistakes, discover who I am, and find my place in this world.
My cousin, Elena, however, was not as fortunate. She was only 18 when she was diagnosed with stage 4 acute Leukemia. She fought for three months. Without warning, Elena had her life and dreams ripped away from her.

I am doing this for her, Elena. For the people who lost the fight or in battle as you read.

I have joined the 2020 Student of the Year campaign and over the next 7 weeks, I will be working to raise money and awareness for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and their mission to cure blood cancers.

My personal goal is to raise $5000 between January 8th and February 28th. I cannot do it alone; I need your help.

Dear Friends & Family, I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to help more than 1.2 million Americans who are living with a blood cancer as a 2020 Students of the Year candidate. Each year, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) launches its Students of the Year fundraising campaign, and this year, I was asked to lead Team Pica. During this campaign from January 8, 2020 to February 28, 2020, our team goal will be to raise $5,000, which will go directly to LLS in support of its longstanding mission to find a cure for blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Being 18, I feel as if the whole world is in my hands. I have been blinded by my youth through the opportunities and the joys that have made my life seem endless. I have time to make mistakes, discover who I am, and find my place in this world. My cousin, Elena, however, was not so fortunate. She was only 18 when she was diagnosed with stage 4 acute Leukemia. She fought for three months. Without warning, Elena had her life and dreams ripped away from her. Like many of you, I have witnessed first-hand the debilitating effects that blood cancers can have on those who suffer from these diseases. In fact, every 10 minutes someone dies from a blood cancer, but LLS is working to find cures. They are funding advances like targeted therapies that zero in on cancer cells and kill them, leaving healthy cells intact. I want to be a part of this race to end cancer. I am doing this for Elena. I am fighting for all the people who could not fight anymore and the ones who are continuing to fight today. But, I cannot do this alone. I need someone like you to be on my team to help me realize this goal.
