Dear Friends and Family,

I am very excited to announce that I have been nominated for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Students of the Year campaign during 2020. My mother, Amy Lee, is currently battling lymphoma. LLS exists to find cures to these diseases and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients, which is why I have accepted the nomination to participate in the Students of the Year campaign.

Every three minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer, and every nine minutes someone dies from blood cancer. Over 1.4 billion people are currently living in the U.S. with a blood cancer, and that number is increasing every day. From frequent visits to the hospital with my mom, I had the chance to personally see how many people this disease affects. LLS is the largest funder of cutting-edge research to advance cures, investing nearly $1.3 billion in research. They lead advancing breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics, and personalized medicine. Their research saves lives.

As a part of Team Curesaders, our goal is to raise $50,000 during the next seven weeks (January 8th - February 28th) in honor of all of the lives affected by this disease. All of the money we collect will go directly to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s fight to find a cure.
