Dear Friends and Family,

I am extremely overjoyed to be given the opportunity to be a candidate for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Student of the Year and lead Team LifeSavers. From January 11th through March 1st my amazing team and I will be raising money for a common goal: to end blood cancers. Our overall team goal is $50,000 and we can only achieve this with your help!

The Leukemia Lymphoma Society is a nonprofit organization with a mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. With the money raised, LLS will help aid many targeted therapies that could be the cure to blood cancers. LLS has also supported 30+ FDA approved therapies SINCE 2017!!! These different therapies help attack the bad, cancerous cells leaving the healthy cells to thrive.

Every 10 minutes, someone dies of blood cancer. It is also estimated that 19,910 people will die from Lymphoma each year. With your donation, love, and support these numbers could decrease every year. All profits earned from this campaign will not only help find a cure for these patients, but a cure for families.

The reason I am so excited to be a part of this campaign is to raise awareness for different forms of cancer. Cancer is a devil to this world and destroys many families. I am running in honor of my Grandmothers who have both battled cancer. Although they didn’t fight leukemia or lymphoma, the effects are all the same. Luckily my dad’s mom survived and my mother’s survived her first round, unfortunately she relapsed and didn’t make it through her second fight.

I hope any and all who are reading this will support me in my journey to end Leukemia and Lymphoma. I also hope that through this campaign many will see the fatalness of cancer and the destruction it causes. Even if it is $10 or $100 any donation counts and I hope you can take less than 5 minutes out of your day and donate to my campaign. Again, the campaign runs from January 11th – March 1st.

You can make a tax deductible donation by writing a check made payable to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (Write “SOY Team LifeSavers” on the memo line) The deadline for receiving contributions is February 27th. You can also donate online by going to
https://events.lls.org/txg/HoustonSOY19/gdeclaris Click on the “Donate Today” link, the following page has specific donation instructions. Please give anything your heart desires, large or small, you can still make a difference.

Aside from donations, we would love to hear from you, or someone you know, who would be willing to donate goods or services for auction items, sponsorships, ads or other possible fundraising opportunities. I’m so excited for this 7 week journey alongside my amazing team. I can’t thank you enough for you time and donation. If you have any questions or would like to talk you can contact me by email at littleman2021@att.net or call me at 281-210-6212

Until there’s a cure,

Welcome to Griffin DeClaris' SOY Fundraising Page!

Aug 28, 2018

I am honored to participate as a team member for the 2019 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am proud to support my candidate and am raising critical dollars in honor of a young patient hero who is currently battling or is in remission from a blood cancer. Each dollar is a vote. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
