Welcome to Emma Tran's SOY Fundraising Page!
Hey y'all! My name is Emma Tran, and I am a junior at St. Agnes Academy. I am leading TEAM SISU.
In 2018, both my mother, Martha Tran, and aunt, Tina Nguyen, were diagnosed with breast cancer, affecting me and my family greatly. I had never thought cancer would hold any place in my life, but all in a split second, it did. Since then, my eyes have been opened to the world around me and to the afflictions millions of people face today. The tenacity and courage of these two strong women whom I am truly grateful for have inspired me to become an advocate for finding a cure for cancer.
I am so excited to share with you that this winter I will be representing St. Agnes Academy as a candidate in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2019 Students of the Year campaign. From January 11th through March 1st of 2019, students across the country will be competing to see who can raise the most funds and awareness for LLS’s mission to cure blood cancers. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.
My goal is to raise $50,000 for the cause. This goal is important to me so I can fund a research grant in my mother and aunt 's names. I can’t do it alone.
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
