Zane Alo | Johnnies for a Cure
Zane's Student Visionaries of the Year Northwest Ohio Fundraiser
Hi my name is Zane Alo I am a junior at St. John's Jesuit I decided to join LLS to honor my grandmother that was diagnosed with lymphoma last year and help cure anyone affected.
My grandmother has always been the heart of our family. She was the one who made every holiday unforgettable, the one who stayed up late making sure all the little details were perfect, and the one who had a hug for every tear. She taught me what love really means- unconditional, constant, and patient. She was always the one who gave, without asking for anything in return.
But when my grandmother was diagnosed with large diffuse B-cell lymphoma, everything changed. The woman who had always been a pillar of strength for our family suddenly became vulnerable, facing a battle no one should ever have to endure. I can still remember the weight in my chest, the overwhelming fear that we might lose her. It felt like the world stopped for a moment, as if all the love she had poured into our lives might be taken away in an instant. The journey through treatment was long, grueling, and filled with uncertainty.
But through it all, my grandmother showed us the strength and courage we didn't know she had. She never stopped fighting, and neither did we. This fight against lymphoma is one we can win, but we need your help. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has been a guiding light, funding research and providing support for families like mine. Your donation is not just a contribution; it's a lifeline. It's the hope that someone else's grandmother, mother, or sister will get a second chance to create more memories, to continue their fight, and to live a life full of love.
Please join us in this fight as any donation large or small together, we can fund the research that will lead to a cure. Together, we can give others the chance at more moments, more hugs, and more time with the ones they love. Your support can make all the difference.
Thank You!
Zane Alo
