I Danny Gladson am honored to participate in the 2019 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society(LLS). I am proud to be raising critical dollars alongside my friends of, "Team Victorious," in honor of my friend and Cancer survivor Victoria Lim,who is very near and dear to me, and in honor of others in the U.S. that are fighting or have fought the Maltreatment of Leukemia. I have known Victoria since the beggining of middle school, she was a very enthusiastic, funny, and mean girl who loved to make fun of me and call me silly names. And after 2 years and two long battles with leukemia Victoria still managed to be the person that would call me names like, "Rat," or, "Dookie Dum-Dum," and make me laugh at myself. Victoria has gone through countless cumbersome bone marrow biopsies, and blood and platelet transfusions, I deeply admire her for her strength and I am so grateful for all the procedures and advancements in cancer research that have made her healthy and happy today. Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. Big strides have been made towards defeating cancer and we are getting closer and closer each day. My group and I have a goal of raising $20,000 for LLS and we need donations of any amount for the cause. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Team of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
