Team's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
We are Student Visionaries!
I founded my LLS team in honor of my father, who passed away from cancer when I was just 3 years old. One of the very few things that I have to remember him by is the expired driver's license I carry in my wallet, and I want to ensure that nobody else has to grow up knowing their loved ones through fading photgraphs and memories. I lead my team in weekly meetings, planning awareness events, organizing fundraisers, and coordinating business sponsorships, to raise as much money as possible during the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's 7-week long student-led fundraising competition. -Jackson
As a little girl my mom had cancer and being so young I had no knowledge of the struggles and hardships my family endured, but as I got older the effects of the cancer had lingered in my home even though the cancer was technically free from my mom's body. Cancer wrecks lives, but it doesn't have to. Ever since I learned and performed Barbara Bush's Commencement address she gave at Wellesley College I have wanted to be apart of something larger than myself, just like the former First Lady encouraged the graduate students to do in her speech. LLS has provided me the opportunity to do just that and be apart of the fight against cancer and the way we allow cancer to effect our families and lives, through each and every fundraiser we are supporting the change the improves research, medical care, and patient support which will alter the course of each impact cancer has for the better. I couldn't be more blessed to have this opportunity to help families who resemble my own family in their cancer journey. -Peyton
Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.
I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.
This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.
As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:
- Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
- Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
- Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!
Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!
