My Grandfather Adan Cisneros

DIEGO: I am Diego Ramirez, a visionary and the team captain for Team Defying The Odds. I dedicate my time and effort to my grandfather, Adan Cisneros de la Rosa, who passed away on August 3rd, 2021, after fighting cancer for more than a year. He was a Mexican Politician and Entrepreneur who taught me the steps to success and, through his hard work, turned me into the person I am today and helped me envision the person I want to be in the future. He taught me to always give back to my community in the best way I can, and I have followed his advice by joining LLS SVOY! With the experience I gained through our campaign, I know my life will change for the better! And I am super excited to make as big an impact in my community as possible!

SOFIA:The reason I joined LLS was for the reason that my grandpa died of pancreatic cancer when I was around the age of five. I know what it feels like to see a loved one fight through the horrible disease of cancer and how it deeply affects families. Through the devastating pain of his loss, I learned that I wanted to be part of an organization like LLS, which is willing to provide researchpatient support, and advocacy for cancer patients all over the country. Furthermore, I want to raise money to help cure cancer and those patients living with the daily struggles cancer comes with. Reminding patients of their undeniable strength and power will make a positive difference in their lives and help their mental state to be able to combat cancer. I also want you to know how much of an impact your donation can make and help save lives. YOU can help CURE cancer!

Thanks to your support, our efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere and Team Defying The Odds, thank you!

STUDENT VISIONARIES OF THE YEAR

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility. They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

  • Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
  • Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
  • Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!
