TEAM KICKING OUT CANCER: AJ STRONG

CANDIDATE LEADERS:

ALLIE: Last year I participated in this campaign as a team member for Kicking Out Cancer. We won the whole campaign and it was an amazing experience. I was interested in continuing the legacy my friends started, and when my best friend AJ was diagnosed, I knew I was all in. I have seen firsthand what AJ and his family have gone through. I want to bring relief to families who are being impacted by cancer. I also want to continue the legacy and show our community the impact high schoolers can have in the world.

MOLLY: Hi I'm Molly and this is my good friend AJ, e was recently diagnosed with Leukaemia at 16 years old. AJ's  battle with blood cancer inspired me to to join Leukaemia and Lymphoma Society Student Visonaries of the Year so I can help to make as big of a difference I can. My goal is to help the patients and families affected by cancer, because you know the three worst words you could ever hear are "you have cancer". And if we can all contribute a little bit, we can help work towards our goal of a world without blood cancer.

ZEKE: My name is Ezequiel J.Gonzalez, Im from Mcallen, Tx. Growing up, cancer charities always played a vital role in my life since my mother was diagnosed when I was very young, whether it was doing small fundraisers or doing 5k's to show awareness for this awful disease. Now, one of my good friends is struggling with the same battle my mom faced. Now that I am older and have this amazing opportunity with LLS, we plan to use these donations to fund research to put an end to cancer once and for all. Any donation, big or small, is enough to help us fund the groundbreaking research we need. at the same time, it allows us to take care of the well-being and mental health of our patients. Cancer isn't only strenuous on the body; it is draining of the mind. your donation will help keep our patients' heads high and their spirits up.

WHAT IS STUDENT VISIONARIES OF THE YEAR?

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility. They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

  • Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
  • Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
  • Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!

This is to my friend AJ. He has a strong heart and is one of if not the funniest guys I know. It’s unfortunate that I can’t see him at school everyday, but I know he’s going to get better and I hope to see him again soon.
