Mitchell's Students of the Year Fundraiser
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page, welcome!
While sitting home in May during the local "stay at home" orders, a friend nominated me to run for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Students of Year Campaign.
The Students' of the Year campaign is a seven-week initiative in which local high school students, along with their team, participate in a fundraising competition. The campaign kicks off on January 8th, 2021, and culminates in a grand finale celebration on February 27th, 2021.
Why did I decide to do this? I first said yes because I had a lot of reflection time this summer and decided to take my mom’s advice that helping others is a great way to get your mind off your own circumstances. But now, I am doing this because I believe in LLS’s mission: to cure blood cancer, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Additionally, my grandmother died from cancer and I have a schoolmate that is currently battling the disease.
The main way to help find a cure do is to raise money for more research and one clinical trial alone can cost $30 million. Team Alamo, my team consisting of 10 students and 3 adults, has a goal to raise $100,000 during the seven-week campaign. Will you help? The deadline for receiving these tax-deductible contributions is February 27, 2021. If you would like to write a check, please make it to LLS and send to Mitchell Patterson, 2303 Blanton Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
Please share this website with anyone you know who would also like to join us in the fight against cancer. On behalf of cancer patients and their families everywhere, I sincerely thank you for your support!
