Team MIND's Mission

Feb 10, 2023

Welcome to the Piqua's Branch of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!

We are called Team MIND, in honor of a Piqua High School Alumni, Keri Marion-Davey.

Keri Marion-Davey was diagnosed with an Astrocytoma in March of 2021. In 2022, the cancer was found to be Grade 4 Astrocytoma (a fast-growing, most aggressive type of brain cancer). Keri is continuing to fight cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy to fight her battle. We want to dedicate our campaign in her name because of how close Keri is with the Piqua community and Piqua City Schools. Keri played and continues to play a huge role for Piqua City Schools. From drum major in the marching band to being a part of the Piqua Show Choir “The Company”, and continues to express her passion for music by helping with the Piqua Show Choir currently. Keri is also helping run the Indian Trail Café, and is recognized as our Coffee Shop Manager! She is a crucial part of Piqua City Schools. We want to recognize her, and all the hard work she puts into everything. This campaign is recognized for Keri Marion-Davey and all the hard work she puts into Piqua.

With this, our goal is to complete our vision for a world without cancer. In order to go through with this mission that LLS has created, we need your help to help us mobilize thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Currently, our team is made up of two hard-working Student Visionaries, and a team full of wonderful parents, teachers, students, and so much more. If you are looking to join our Team, please let us know and we would love for you to join.

Our goal is to raise money and awareness for a 7-week-long campaign. As you can see, our page includes a countdown to the day that this campaign ends. We would love your help to get us to raise money for policy and advocacy for blood cancer patients and families. We want to address the seriousness of those with cancer, especially blood cancer. Allowing others to share their story and making sure that they receive the right resources is what is important to us.

This campaign helps us take action because all of this, all of the fundraisings, all of the events planned, every post, and everything said about our campaign helps every single person fighting for a cancer-free future. Please feel free to send and share our fundraising page with anyone who may be interested in helping contribute to our page or campaign.

It would also be greatly appreciated if you took the time to donate to our campaign. Even a dollar goes a long way, anything counts. We also accept donations from businesses, local and far! Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. Anything is greatly appreciated. Even just taking the time to listen to our campaign means so much. Every single donation is greatly appreciated and tax-deductible.

Thanks to your support, our efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.

On behalf of blood cancer patients, and everyone who has been affected by any cancer, thank you!
