Team's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser

Jan 29, 2024

We are Team for Warriors for a Cure, a group of Mariemont High School students working together to raise money for the 2024 LLS Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign. Like most people, our lives have been impacted by cancer. We were inspired to create this team and raise money for LLS, in part, by Simone Kempiner's mom who was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins lymphoma in January 2021. Simone Kempiners is now one of our team leaders, and can happily say that thanks to research funded by LLS, her mom has been in remission since March 2021. Now, we've decided to dedicate our time to fuel LLS's mission of funding research, supporting, and advocating for cancer patients. We look forward to a future where cancer is NOT in the dictionary.

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

We are visionaries; We have a vision for a world without cancer, but we need your help.

This year, we're proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

  • Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
  • Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
  • Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit our website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

Thanks to your support, our efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!

Thank you for raising this money and all of your hard work! I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma when I was 15 and then it relapsed when I was 21. Everything was okay until a few months ago (I am 37 now) when I was diagnosed with conjunctival lymphoma (a type of non-Hodgkins lymphoma) in my eye. It is an extremely rare type of cancer but typically it's not very aggressive. I have been going through radiation treatments on my eye and I have a very good prognosis. I will be done next week. But we need to get to a point where hearing you have cancer js no worse than hearing you sprained your wrist. Good luck Warriors for a Cure! It's great to see you people get involved!
