Hello! My name is Sophia Butcher and I am Sophomore at Indian Hill High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have lived in the Cincinnati area my entire life with my loving and supportive family and my amazing friends! I am so grateful to have grown up in such a safe and loving environment. The community around me is truly so helpful and is always encouraging me to accomplish my goals and exceed my expectations of myself. I play soccer for Indian Hill and I am loving my Sophomore year! I am so blessed to be in good health and so lucky that my family and friends are as well. However, I know that many families are not in such fortunate circumstances. So, I am so excited to give back to my community and help raise money to cure cancer.

When my dad was twenty three years old he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma which is a type of blood cancer that primarily affects the lymphatic system. My dad was told by his doctors that there was a very low chance of him ever being able to have children. Thankfully my dad overcame those odds and my younger brother and I are here today! Though I was not alive when his struggle took place, I have heard firsthand from him how difficult it was to go through. I am beyond grateful that my dad is here today and continues to be healthy due to the advancement of medicine and technology that helped him get here. I want to help others beat cancer just like my dad did and support their families who are struggling as well.
