We are beyond excited to announce our participation in The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Students of the Year campaign as a candidate for Anderson High School. We have formed team “AHS for LLS”. This campaign is a 7-week fundraiser in which all proceeds raised will benefit research to find a cure for blood cancers. 

LLS is at the forefront of the fight to cure cancer. Since their founding in 1949, they have invested nearly $1.3 billion in pioneering many of today’s most innovative blood cancer research. Additionally, since 2017, LLS has helped advance 60 of the 70 blood cancer treatment options approved by the FDA, some of which are now used to treat other forms of cancer and non-malignant diseases.

Jake's Why: This cause is one very close to my heart. As many of you know, I lost my father to Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma back in the summer of 2018. It is for this reason that I chose to get involved with this program. Our team has set forth a goal of raising $50,000 in order to link a research portfolio at LLS in my father’s name. Additionally I am hoping to prevent any other family from having to undergo what our family went through.  

Abby's Why: I lost my grandfather that I never met to leukemia, and I have several friends who have survived the disease. Knowing Jake and his family, I feel for their loss and want to help people in similar situations. We both want to help as much as possible!

Why should you donate? Too many people are suffering from cancer and any amount donated brings us one step closer to finding a cure and saving the lives of many. Most of us know someone who has been affected by cancer and understand the difficulties of that fight. Donations would benefit victims of cancer and their loved ones while contributing to a future without cancer in it.
