Welcome to Alyssa Questell's Fundraising Page!

Jan 31, 2018

For those of you who may not know me, my name is Alyssa Questell, and I am a junior at Indian Hill High School. Among other things, I enjoy reading about science, playing soccer, and spending time with my dog, Lizzie. Last year, one of my teachers introduced me to the wonderful organization that is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I did a 7-week long fundraiser last winter, resulting in more than $10,000 in donations, and I am estatic to be doing it again this year.

Unfortunately, cancer has affected all of us in one way or another. As for me, I lost my dear and greatly missed grandfather, Robert "Bob" Questell, to Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Cancer took him from this world shortly before I was born – I can only imagine what fond memories we would have shared together if a cure had existed. I am participating in this campaign because I want everybody to be able to be able to grow up with their grandfather, grandmother, mother, father, sister, brother, and loved ones. It's time to defeat cancer once and for all. If we raise $50,000, LLS will dedicate a research grant in Bob's name. In his memory and in memory of all the loved ones we have lost to cancer, I am seeking your help in raising money to stop cancer in its tracks.

LLS's continued advancements over the years are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled.

And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well. Remember, a $1 donation is just as important as a $10,000 donation.

If you would prefer to donate by mail, please send your check to 4370 Glendale-Milford Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242 (payable to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society // please include "Team ALL in" in the memo line)

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support!

Much love and gratitude,

Alyssa Questell
