I first decided to run for Student Visionaries of the Year to create change–like most, I wanted to help people. For me, it was always seen as someone else’s life I was helping–someone I didn’t know personally, but wanted to help regardless. However, as I got a little more involved in the campaign, I began to realize how many people I knew were personally impacted. As I recruited team members, I learned that more and more people I knew had their own battle against blood cancer. Their stories touched my heart and fueled my motivation. Now, I see that my efforts will impact the entirety of the community. Each contribution made to end blood cancers will affect millions of lives.
