I was immediately impacted when I first joined LLS and met our ten-year-old honored hero, Elena. To see someone so young fight so hard and have the most positive outlook on life was nothing short of inspiring. Seeing how her diagnosis affected her family created a strong urge within me to do as much as possible to help these patients and their families. I feel a strong connection now to Elena and get so much joy in seeing her big smile after overcoming the battles of fighting cancer. Elena has inspired me to look at the world through a different lens and make an impact on putting an end to cancer for all those affected by it.
