Hi, my name is Jose Costa, but many call me Jac. My family first got involved with LLS in 2013, when my aunt ran, winning Woman of the Year, as she raised 75000 Dollars, one of the largest sums ever to be raised at the event at the time. At 8 years old, I couldn't believe how much money she had raised, and thought about how proud I was that my aunt had just made such a big difference in the world and was helping stop cancer. So when my aunt asked my cousin, Isa Yasher and I to run, the answer was a resounding yes! I've always wanted to feel the way I felt about my aunt, knowing that I made a difference as well.

They say every bit helps, and while some may dismiss this, it is true. Every dollar given gets us closer to a cure for cancer, and this is an opportunity for you to make a difference with just a click of a button.

But  before I try to sell you on donating, I want to talk about some experiences my family has had in the past with cancer. My grandma died from cancer in 2001, and it still saddens me to this day that I never even had a chance to meet her. My family tells stories about her all the time, and when I hear them I wish I could've gotten the chance to hang out with her, even if it was just one day. I don't want anyone else to have to lose anyone like we have, and that's the reason I got in this. To make a difference, and to help others not feel that pain.
