Team CUREsaders is the LJCDS branch of the San Diego Student Visioanires of the Year campaign. Our team was founded in 2022 by Kanoa Kowalski, Siena Bateman, and Sareena Perez, and has since grown to include Country Day students ranging from freshmen to seniors! Our team mission pillar this year focuses on providing patient support and education. We selected this pillar as many of our candidates and team members have direct connections to friends, and family who have been affected by Leukemia, Lymphoma, and other cancers. The candidates individually asked each of the team members to participate in this campaign as each possesses a specific quality that we believe can help contribute to our team culture and success! Our overall team goal is $50,000, which is money that will come from direct asks to family, friends, and teachers, along with restaurant nights, matching gifts, and corporate sponsorships! 

Each of our team members and candidates have their own individual “why” for why they are taking part in this campaign, whether that is through a familial connection, or from just hearing about the impact that blood cancers have on the lives of others.
