Dear Family and Friends,

Do you want to contribute to stopping blood cancer? I am writing to you because I am proud to be part of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year campaign, fundraising as much money as possible over a 7-week period, January 26 to March 15. Teams across San Diego compete to see which team raises the most money. For the second year, I am a part of Team Answer for Cancer. My fundraising goal is $3,000 and I know we can reach it together!

The campaign is especially meaningful to me because some of my close family members had cancer. I am so grateful they were able to recover because of amazing doctors. Because of donors, like you, there is a lot of research that helps people survive cancer. I want to help fund LLS so researchers and doctors can continue to help more people survive cancer by finding treatments and cures.

Since LLS’s founding in 1949, they have put in $1.5 billion to blood cancer research, finding new information on immunotherapy, genomics, and medicine. In the last five years, they improved 75% of the almost 100 FDA approved blood cancer treatments. They are the biggest non-profit donor to blood cancer research. 

Helen Keller once said “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” To cure and help people through cancer, we need researchers, doctors, and donors that fund all of this.
