Welcome, and thank you for visiting my page!

I am honored to have been nominated as a 2021 Students of the Year Candidate. I have teamed up with my close friend Kalani Emde and several other high school students and adult advisors to raise funds that will be put towards supporting blood cancer patients and their families, as well as clinical trials to develop groundbreaking treatments.

As a high school student, I know it can sometimes feel as though we do not have the power to make a substantial change in our community. The Students of the Year program has shown me that that is far from true. I have always been interested in biomedicine, and over the past few years, I have also educated myself on the political advocacy side of the healthcare field. After learning about LLS’s mission to support clinical research and political advocacy, I felt compelled to join as it combined my two deepest passions: medicine and equal healthcare for all. 

My team and I are running our campaign in honor of Avila, a 9 year old local blood cancer patient who was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. After getting the opportunity to meet her and hear her journey, we felt eternally grateful to be a part of such a wonderful and unique program. To be able to raise funds and see an actual impact in your community right before your eyes is truly a special experience, and we are excited to be sharing it with you too!
