Nora Wilcox | The Dream Team's Campaign
Welcome to Nora Wilcox's SOY Fundraising Page!
If you know someone else that has been directly affected by cancer. Donate for them. Donate so that no one else will have to suffer the consequences of this disease. Help put an end to ALL cancers. Help provide patient support and allow more treatments to be discovered. Since 2017, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a remarkable 53 therapies just to treat patients with blood cancers, and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has helped advance 46 of these treatments. Imagine the possibilities for more treatment.
The most COMMON type of cancer among children and young adults is Leukemia.
Here are some more statistics about blood cancers that have affected people in the US:

Welcome to Nora Wilcox's SOY Fundraising Page!
I have been given the opportunity to participate in Students of the Year campaign for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). The Students of the Year campaign is a nationwide campaign held annually by LLS to find cures for blood cancer and support patients and their families. As a candidate, I have seven weeks, beginning January 16th, to raise as many funds as possible for this cause.
Some of you may know that I have a personal connection with blood cancer. A month after I turned 15 I was diagnosed with Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma, a rare type of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Prior to this, I had painful swollen lymph nodes in my neck and abdomen, night sweats, fevers, and fatigue. My family and I had countless visits to the doctor, but no one knew what it was. I was cleared to go to Europe with my family, but I developed a rash so I ended up in Prague’s ER on my birthday. No one knew English and we were there for hours. The doctor gave me steroids, assuming it was allergies, that masked many of my symptoms. A month after my ER trip my symptoms weren’t gone. So, I was hospitalized for a few days. I got a biopsy when I was admitted. Then on September 6th, 2018 I was diagnosed. I had to be homeschooled and miss out on events. I went through 6 week-long rounds of chemotherapy under the span of 6 months and have been recovering since.
I know exactly what it is like to have blood cancer. I want to help other people who have this disease. Whenever I get my blood drawn, I see these poor kids, hair all gone, scars all over, and there is a place in my heart that just wants to help them in any sort of way. That is why I am participating in the Leukemia Lymphoma Society’s Students of the Year program. I am attempting to raise as many funds as possible and I need your help.
Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients including myself, thank you for your support!
