I am honored to participate in the 2019 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am proud to be raising critical dollars in honor of a young patient hero who is currently battling or is in remission from a blood cancer. My mission is to not only raise money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma, two of the most common cancers in children and teens.

This campaign is especially important to me because it is an oppurtunity for me to give back to a community that supported and helped me through my cancer journey. My goal for this campaign is $60,000, at that amount I will get to choose  one, of the many, research projects LLS is funding. The LLS was founded in 1949 when the Survivial rate for a diagnosis of lymphoma was 3% but thanks to your support nd the hard work of researchers, the survival rate for Leukemia and Lymphoma are over 90%. The LLS' research has also been used for other treatments.  In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. 

Beating cancer is in our blood, I hope I can count on your support!
