I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.

My name is Sophia Lee, I'm a high school student working to help others find a cure for blood cancer. Leukemia is a disease known to overproduce white blood cells in the body, and Lymphoma is a disease that causes a disruption in the lymphocytes which are important cells in the immune system. Both these diseases take the lives of 156 people each DAY. While some can overcome this disease with extensive treatment, not everyone is as lucky. By donating today, you can help to make a differance so that the next time a kid has to hear the words "You've been diagnosed with cancer", there can be hope, and light at the end of the tunnel for them.

My reason for running is in honor of my church friend Aiden, who is just now in remssion from his fight against leukemia. At 14 years old, Aiden battled Leukemia and is now a blood cancer survivor due to the amazing medical staff and current resources availble. Knowing that I could help other families that could be facing similar tragic situations is what really put the campaign into perspective for me. My campaign will provide support to critical work of LLS in hopes that one day no one will have to grow up without the ones they love. I know that with your help, I can reach my goal and make a direct impact in the fight against blood cancers.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
