Ensure a Cure with Emalee and Vance

Mar 09, 2023

Hi! We are honored to announce that we, along with our Team Ensure a Cure, are candidates for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2023 Student Visionaries of the Year campaign. Student Visionaries of the Year is a seven-week leadership development program that runs from March 14th to May 5th to raise money to help blood cancer patients not only survive but thrive after treatment.

Together, we have set a fundraising goal of $15,000! The money raised helps LLS, the largest nonprofit dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers, fund research to advance lifesaving treatments, drive advocacy for policies that protect patient access to these treatments, and provide patients and families with hope, guidance, education and support. Our candidate team is particularly passionate about Patient Support and will be representing this area of LLS during our campaign.

LLS works tirelessly to provide hope, guidance, education, and support when it’s needed most, so no one has to face cancer alone. For more than two decades, LLS Information Specialists – highly trained oncology professionals – have been on the front lines of an ever-changing healthcare landscape, guiding patients and caregivers to our trusted education and support services. Last year alone, LLS Information Specialists responded to 26,000 inquiries from patients and caregivers.

We need your help to make a difference!

Team's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

  • Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
  • Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
  • Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!

Emalee, It’s an inspiration to see your commitment to LLS’s worthwhile mission. Thank you for inviting us to become involved. Your grandmother was such a lovely lady and truly one of my favorite people. Her welcoming, gracious hospitality made her home feel like a “home away from home” during my Erskine years and continues today to be an example to which I aspire. I’m certain she would be very proud of you. May God bless you and your efforts in this campaign to find a cure for blood cancers and improve the quality of life for patients receiving treatment. With Love, Susan Petty and Family
