I have signed up to save lives with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and am working to raise as much as possible over the next 7 weeks for LLS's life-saving mission. Every dollar raised counts towards putting an end to blood cancer once and for all. 
 
 I choose to run for LLS Students of the Year because I want to support research for Hodgkin's Lymphoma. In February of 2020, my friend Catherine, at age 12, was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Catherine began chemotherapy and radiation treatment, but the rise of COVID-19 added risk to her already declining health. However, after months of treatment, her scans came beack clear which meant she was in remission! It's thanks to the research and treatments that LLS helps fund that Catherine is healthy today. 
 
Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.
 
Because of donations from people like you, Catherine and many other blood cancer patients are healthy today. But there is always more to be done.
