I am honored to participate as a team member in the 2020 Students of the Year program, a seven week fundraising initiative benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Last year, I lead my team, Kisses4Kim, in raising over $23,000 and I am happy to join Jade's team this year!

As you may know, cancer has greatly affected my life in the past. I most recently lost my grandma, Oma, to cancer and my close friend’s mom, Kim Roberts, also lost her battle in 2016. I have witnessed firsthand the debilitating effects that cancer, including leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma can have on those who suffer, and on the friends and family who care for and nurture their loved ones. I hope to see the day that a cure reaches the hands of my friends and family in need, especially since leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children under the age of 20.

Many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
