Welcome to Megan Stephens' Team Love SOY Fundraising Page!

Mar 28, 2019

It is officially 1 week into the Student of the Year campaigns for the Upstate region and I am so excited to have started!

The Kickoff celebration last Thursday was amazing as we encouraged each other for the start of this undertaking. There are 6 SOY teams for 2019 in the Upstate and we all are working hard to start raising funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We also had the priviledge of meeting our Honored Hero, Skylar, who our funds will be in honor of. Skylar is a tough young lady who has battled leukemia and won! Her story is so inspiring and shows the impact cancer research has in battling cancer.

Please continue to support Team Love and tell others about us and our goal to help LLS. All donations are tax deductible and go straight to LLS to help them get closer to a cure.

Have a blessed day and remember to let all that you do be done with love! :)

Welcome to Team Love's Fundraising Page!

Mar 19, 2019

Hey y’all and thank you for supporting Team Love! My name is Megan Stephens and I am honored to be a 2019 Student of the Year (SOY) Candidate for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am currently a junior at Byrnes High School and dual enrolled at USC Upstate, which is where I found out about this great opportunity.

The Student of the Year program is a seven-week initiative where select high school students participate in a fundraising competition to raise funds for LLS. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens. My campaign is from March 21st through May 11th and I am so excited to get started!

Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org.

Have a blessed day and let all that you do be done with love!J
