Isla's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser

Welcome to my fundraising page!
I had the privilege of being nominated to be a Candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2025 Sacramento Student Visionaries of the Year campaign. Student Visionaries of the Year is a seven-week leadership development program that runs from March 13th to May 2nd to raise money to help blood cancer patients not only survive but thrive after treatment. I am writing today to ask for your support of my team’s campaign and LLS’s mission to find a cure for blood cancers and improve the quality of life for patients.
The money raised helps LLS, the largest nonprofit dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers, fund research to advance lifesaving treatments, drive advocacy for policies that protect patient access to these treatments, and provide patients and families with hope, guidance, education and support.
I’ve chosen to lead Team Raise for Red because I’ve seen first-hand how LLS can help families who’s loved ones are battling cancer. During my freshman year, my father was diagnosed with both colon cancer and leukemia in the span of six months. Thankfully, he fought through the colon cancer, but the leukemia is here to stay unless we find a cure. His chemo would have been $600 a day if it weren’t for what LLS does to support families in need. Our campaign will provide support to the critical work of LLS in hopes that one day no one will have to grow up without the ones they love. I know that with your help, we can reach our goal and make a direct impact in the fight against blood cancers.
Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!
Sincerely,
Isla Kirchgessner
