Mackenzie Back | Team Cure'em With Kindness
Mackenzie's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
I want to make a difference and am hoping you can help!
A classmate and close friend of mine, Kennedy Seitz, and I had the privilege of being nominated as leaders for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2023 Sacramento Student Visionaries of the Year campaign. Student Visionaries of the Year is a seven-week leadership development program that runs from March 16th to May 5th while raising funds to help blood cancer patients survive and thrive. I am asking you to support our team, Cure‘em with Kindness, and support LLS’s mission.
Kennedy and I have created a team of committed friends to partner with us on this journey. Our team fundraising goal is $100,000! YES!! This is a lofty goal, but we’re confident that we can reach it with your help. The money raised for LLS helps fund research to advance lifesaving treatments, drive advocacy for policies that protect patient access to these treatments, and provide patients and families with hope, guidance, and support.
I am currently a Junior at St. Francis High School and have competed in sports for as long as I can remember, participated in student government, joined various clubs on campus, and am a member of the National Charity League (NCL). These activities have prepared me for this campaign, and I am excited to make a difference for those who need it most. I have always had a desire to give back to others and make a positive influence. When proposed with the opportunity to Co-lead a LLS team, the decision was easy. In the span of thirty minutes, on average, ten people are diagnosed with blood cancer. Unfortunately, many of you reading this have experienced or known someone who has lost a loved one to cancer. I too have been impacted, and recently lost my Grandpa to cancer. I am committed to making a change and helping raise awareness and funds to find a cure.
All donations received will support LLS’s overall mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life for patients and their families. I thank you in advance for partnering with a campaign so close to my heart, and please remember, every dollar counts.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!
Sincerely, Mackenzie
