We are so excited you are here! Our team, Team Help the Hopeful, is a multi-generational group of high school students and adults in the 2021 Students of the Year (SOY) program, which is a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We are so thankful for your support!

This year, we are raising funds in honor of our local Honored Hero, Emma. When she was only three years old, she was diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Children with cancer everywhere in the world battle hard years of radiation, chemotherapy and steroids, blood transfusions, and bone marrow biopsies. On top of that, only 4 new oncology drugs for blood cancer for children have been found in the last 40 years, forcing children like Emma to use the same kind of treatments designed for adult patients. Our hopes for the near future is to develop safer treatments for children.
