About Our Team 

Team Fund the Fight is composed of multigenerational members united by our shared passion to make a positive impact in the lives of cancer patients around the globe. Our mission is to create a meaningful campaign that reflects our deep history of leadership experience in order to help a charitable cause that directly benefits families in our community. We strive to increase awareness about the impact of blood cancers and the cutting edge treatments that are currently being researched, as well as inspire others to join the fight to find a cure. We are ecstatic to have the profound opportunity to help save lives, and with your support, we hope to instigate a large-scale impact in the fight against cancer!

Our Campaign 

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest nonprofit health organization and largest donor dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. Students of the Year (SOY) is a 7 week fundraising challenge in which multigenerational teams aim to raise the most amount of money they can. Our campaign runs from February 4th to March 26th. With your support in this campaign, we believe we can achieve our stretch goal of raising $15,000, even during this massive Coronavirus pandemic.

Our Motivation: 2021 Honor’s Hero Emma Geiselman

Honored Heroes are local blood cancer survivors, and this year we are raising funds in honor of Emma Gielsman. Emma was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at the age of three; she completed 2 years of treatment in 2021, and is currently 9 years in remission. She is a highschooler, like many of the members in our team. Her resilience and story inspire our team to take the initiative to find a cure for cancer. 

As a team, we all have known someone who has had cancer in the past and beaten it, someone who is currently fighting against it, and someone who has sadly lost their life. Our past experiences drive us to use our knowledge and ingenuity to initiate positive impacts on cancer patients. Your time and efforts will help Emma, and thousands of youth and adults in their fight against blood cancers. 

The Power of Your Donation 

All of the money we raise will go directly to the largest blood cancer research program in the nation, LLS, to fund cutting-edge research and treatments. In fact, $0.79 of every dollar goes to help fund LLS’s mission to cure cancer! 

As a global leader in the fight to end cancer, LLS is committed to doing more for blood cancer patients and families than any organization in the world. Every facet of LLS’s mission – research, education and support, and policy and advocacy – work in harmony to put blood cancer patients and their families first. LLS has helped millions impacted by cancer throughout its more than 70-year history, even funding breakthrough blood cancer research to advance lifesaving treatments and cures that now help patients with other cancers and diseases as well. This is why at LLS we say that beating cancer is in our blood.
