Introduction
Hello! My name is Morgan Johnson and I am a junior in high school. This year I have the privilege of being an LLS Student Of The Year co-candidate alongside my good friend Nikki Tosta. As co-candidates Nikki and I are working together to lead our team, "Team Change The Game" to reach our fundraising goal of $40,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Our campaign will begin on Thursday, February 4th, and end on Friday, March 26th. Throughout this time we hope to accomplish our goal with the support of our community and you!
Why I have joined Students Of The Year
The purpose of the Students Of The Year program is to allow high school-aged students the opportunity to get involved with the fight against cancer. Students are able to gain leadership skills and expand our experience in networking. I truly belive through this program I will be able to serve my community and be able to contribute to the fight against cancer. I want to continue to educate myself about blood cancers through this process and help raise awareness amongst my peers. But, more than anything I want to help those who have been affected by cancer find hope in the battle. Unfortunately, I lost my grandpa due to Leukemia, a close family friend due to Lymphoma. and a wonderful family we know lost their son. Seeing how cancer impacts not only the patient, but family and friends pushes me to want to make a difference. I now understand how important it is to come together as one in the fight against cancer and work to find a cure. I believe our campaign can truly make an impact in our community as we fundraise for LLS. I am so excited to be going on this journey alongside my co-candidate, Nikki Tosta, and the rest of our team, Team Change the Game. I cannot wait to see what we can accomplish with your help!

I am honored to donate to this immensely important cause. In 1976, my sisters and I lost our dad to Leukemia when he was only 38 years old. Much has been learned about Leukemia in the years that have followed our own loss. I am so grateful for the dedicated research, treatments, and education that the Leukemia Society has provided to those dealing with this disease. Their contributions are felt by all. My nieces passion to raise money to assist and support this amazing organization is truly inspiring! She is doing a great job bringing awareness, so moved and grateful for her desire to further this cause!

Thank you, Morgan and Nikki, for raising awareness and money to fight leukemia and lymphoma. Having lost my best friend to lymphoma, I know somewhat of the pain these diseases cause patients, family and friends. Kathy and I send our prayers and best wishes to you and all the other students involved in this very worthy effort. Blessings and peace. Douglas Kindall, MD
