Students of the year is a 7 week campaign which raises money for patients of blood cancer. The money is raised through direct donations, fundraisers, and many other events. The money makes a big impact on people’s lives by producing funds for the treatments and research. Our team’s goal is to raise $10,000 dollars for the lymphoma and leukemia society. We as a team are dedicated to making a difference in others’ lives and bringing awareness to blood cancers. I became inspired to participate in students of the year through the growing awareness I was seeing, regarding blood cancer patients. Specifically, seeing teenagers who weren’t far off from my age, who are living with blood cancer. Knowing that there are teens, just like me who are living with blood cancer, and seeing just how big of an impact it has on their life, as well as the life of their family really inspired me to become an LLS team member.
