Welcome to Liam Peters Team Cure-It-Up Fundraising Page!

Hi, this is Liam Peters a junior at Oakdale High school
I am honored to lead Team Cure-It-Up for the 2019 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Students of the Year program. This is a seven-week initiative in which many high school students like me from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. All the money that we raise will go directly to LLS and help families across the nation. For many years, cancer has impacted families throughout the world, and specifically my family. Before I was born my grandpa was diagnosed with Leukemia, and shortly after I was born he passed away before I had the time to get to know him. Another incident which has truly impacted me and my family members is the death of my Aunt Lisa who passed away last October from Melanoma after battling it for 6 years. Though Melanoma is not the same as Leukemia, I know from experience the impact cancer has on families. My goal is to raise the most money I possibly can for Team Cure-It-Up and to bring attention to blood cancers, like Leukemia, and many other types of cancer that affect families today.
Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. But every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer, so there is more to do! All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help support patients and families.
On behalf of me, Team Cure-It-Up, and cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! Every penny counts, please share with friends and family.
