Together We Rise.

My name is Ella Harrington, and I am a Junior at Folsom High. I am so excited to be able to join the amazing line of students who have participated in this campaign before me , and even more excited to make an amazing contribution to this program!

I live at home with my amazing mom and dad and older brother who is off to college. If I am not playing with my two Airedales, Charlie and Oliver, you can find me doing anything outdoors or centered around the arts. At school I am very involved in Student Government, and plan to continue to look for ways to make a tangible change around my community and at school as well. My goal in life is to make an impact on someone in a postive way, whether that be big or small, and promote lifelong health and happiness. When I heard about this opportunity with LLS, I could not have been more excited, especially since the topic of cancer hits home in a very deep way. 

Thank you to LLS and everyone who has supported Tessa and I so far, I truly am so excited to witness what happens when people raise their voices and decide to make a change in something they believe in. Together we can do this, and I am so excited you have decided to join us. :)

My name is Tessa Bomke, I am a junior at Folsom High School. Being born and raised in Folsom, I have immense pride in my school and community and Students of the Year is giving me a great opportunity to express this. 

I was inspired to be a captain of a Students of the Year team by my friend, Zoya Khan who was the co-captain of Team Triumph last year. Seeing how much could be achieved by someone my age who I am so close to was a big deal. Since hearing about her campaign, this fundraiser was something I knew I had to get involved in. In my family, I have witnessed what a devastating disease cancer can be. To think that blood cancer especially targets children is heartbreaking and my only hope is that by participating in this can help at least one victim in any small way. 

Outside of this campaign, I am very involved in the club that I founded and am currently the president of, Society of Women Engineers. I look forward to seeing my club members projects at Folsom High School's engineering fair this spring. Post high school, I am looking to receive an appointment to one of our nation's military academies where I want to study law. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is teaching me to serve my community as I look to my future in serving my country.

I am so grateful for this challenge and I look forward to meeting new people and learning new things!

We are so thankful that you are here joining us on this amazing journey to find a cure! Because of supporters like you, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has tripled the blood cancer survival rate in the past 80 years of its existence.

Besides directly donating to this page, there are so many other ways to contribute to our campaign. You can donate silent auction/raffle items, attend our events, or even sponsor us! We are always open to new ideas, so please don't hesitate to reach out! This is not just an opportunity for us to become leaders, but we also see this as a wonderful chance for our donors to make tangible change in their community. 

Though at the end of this 7-week competition there is a title of Student of The Year, Team Rise is here to do more then win a title. We are here to make a difference, and together we can rise above blood cancer. 

If every person that saw this donated just 25 dollars, we could raise over $5,000! Its that simple. Lets do this!
