Team CUREageous consists of high school students that attend St. Francis, Jesuit, Rio Americano, and Christian Brothers. The team is led by Aliana Mayer and Grant Hume.

Aliana and Grant, who attend St. Francis and Jesuit High School, have decided to work with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) because blood cancer research can be the gateway to curing other cancers. Since its inception in 1949, LLS has invested more than one billion dollars in research to find the cause and cure for blood cancers. This research has led to groundbreaking treatments -- such as chemotherapy, radiation, and stem cell transplantation -- they are vital to treating blood cancers and many other forms of cancer.

We have all seen too many lives cut short, too many families left devastated by cancer. It is heartbreaking to see the ravages cancer has taken on many of the people in the greater Sacramento area. Do you know that Leukemia has caused more deaths than any other cancer in children under the age of 20?

However, LLS's continued advancements over the years are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!
