Meet Chris:

Hello! My name is Chris Chang and I am a team leader for Team There is a Hero. I am a senior at El Camino Highschool and am proud to say that this is the first team EVER to represent El Camino Highschool. I became involved with LLS because I have personally witnessed the effects of cancer in my family. My mom passed away due to breast cancer when I was 11 years old and during that time, there was nothing I could do to help her. But now because of LLS, I can honor my mom by fighting cancer and making sure other families do not have to go though what I did. Team There is a Hero is looking to make a big impact in the fight against cancer by setting a goal of $60,000. We have from Thursday, February 21st, 2019 at 6:00 pm until Friday, April 12, 2019 at 6:00 pm to reach our goal and with your help, I am positive we can reach it. Thank you so much for your support.

Meet Julia:

Hello! My name is Julia Minke, and I am participating in the Students of the Year Campaign as a candidate along with Chris Chang. I am excited to lead Team There is a Hero to hopefully reaching our goal of $60,000. The cause behind this campaign is very important to me as I lost my grandma, Marie Salvas, to cancer in the summer of 2017 and my aunt, Adrienne Anderson, was diagnosed with breast cancer about a month ago. I am participating in this campaign in memory of my grandma and in honor of my aunt. We hope that you'll support Team There is a Hero in finding cures for many types of cancer and reducing the number of families affected by them.
