Fletcher's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
My name is Fletcher Fallin...
I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help!
Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) was built on a vision of a better world—one without blood cancers. This year, I’m honored to join LLS’s Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign. During this leadership development program, I’m dedicating my time, effort, and resources to raising funds for an organization that means so much to me and my family. Please read about why I have accepted this candidacy, my motivation to make a difference, and what you can do to help.
My Inspiration and Motivation...
In 2018, my sister Chloe was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Watching her fight for her life changed me forever. Chloe's cancer diagnosis completely turned our world upside down. Her treatment was long and difficult, both physically and mentally, and she sacrificed so much to fight the unwelcome cancer in her body. The medicines that were saving her life often made her unbelievably sick and in excruciating pain. Despite unimaginable hardships, Chloe never stopped fighting. Her courage and determination taught us all to appreciate what matters most in life. After almost three years of treatment and surviving the COVID pandemic with a compromised immune system, Chloe completed her final chemo in 2021 and rang the bell. I am grateful that she has been given a second chance at life and she continues to make the most of it. Today, she is a cancer survivor, thriving as a junior at San Diego State University, pursuing a degree in General Business, and living life to the fullest. She’s my inspiration, my best friend, and the reason I’m leading this campaign.
My Vision...
In Chloe’s honor, I am leading THE FIGHTING FALLINS, a team of amazing friends and family that I have recruited, in a 7-week campaign to raise awareness and funds for blood cancer research. Kickoff begins on January 16th and my team and I will work tirelessly competing against other high school teams across Colorado to make the biggest impact possible. Our efforts will culminate in a grand finale on March 8th, where we’ll celebrate the total funds raised. I have set a substantial fundraising goal and hope that the money I raise will make a difference for millions of families like mine that will be affected by a cancer diagnosis. I have accepted this challenge knowing that I will be a part of something much greater than myself while supporting LLS, an organization that is very meaningful to my entire family.
Why Your Donations Matter...
Every 3 minutes, someone in the United States is diagnosed with a blood cancer. These are not just statistics—these are families, friends, and loved ones facing the unimaginable
Over 1.2 million people in the U.S. are currently living with or in remission from blood cancers
Leukemia is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among children and adolescents under 20 years old
Although 40% of pediatric cancers are blood cancers, only 5% of cancer drugs have been approved for first time use in children
By raising funds for LLS, we can help accelerate the development of treatments and therapies that make a real impact on patients and families affected by a cancer diagnosis. The support from LLS does not stop there! LLS funding also aids in repurposing drugs to fight OTHER cancers and has led to breakthroughs in treating conditions like Parkinson’s, Diabetes, and Alzheimer’sdiseases. By donating to LLS, we are helping improve the lives of countless individuals beyond blood cancer patients!
