Fletcher's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser
My name is Fletcher Fallin...
I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help!
Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) was built on a vision of a better world—one without blood cancers. This year, I’m honored to join LLS’s Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign. During this leadership development program, I’m dedicating my time, effort, and resources to raising funds for an organization that means so much to me and my family. Please read about why I have accepted this candidacy, my motivation to make a difference, and what you can do to help.
My Inspiration and Motivation...
In 2018, my sister Chloe was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Watching her fight for her life changed me forever. Chloe's cancer diagnosis came out of nowhere and turned our world upside down. Her treatment was long and difficult, both physically and mentally, and she sacrificed so much to fight the cancer in her body. For two and a half years, she endured terrible side effects from chemotherapy, many long hospital stays, and the added stress of surviving COVID with a compromised immune system. The medicines that were saving her life made her incredibly sick, weak and in so much pain. Despite all of these hardships, she never stopped fighting. It was hard on all of us, but her courage and determination taught us to appreciate the things that matter most. I am not only grateful for the doctors and nurses that took care of Chloe, but also the reasearch and funding that helped save her when she needed it. She has been given a second chance at life and she continues live life to the fullest. Today, she is proud to be a cancer survivor and she has defintely earned it. She’s my inspiration, my best friend, and the reason I’m leading this campaign.
My Vision...
In Chloe’s honor, I am leading THE FIGHTING FALLINS, a team of friends and family, in a 7-week campaign to raise funds for LLS and their mission. Families just like ours rely on the cutting edge research, advocacy and support provided by organizations like LLS. Kickoff begins on January 16th and we will work together in a competion against 12 other high school teams in Colorado to make the biggest impact possible. I have set the bar high for my team and hope that the money we raise will make an impact for millions of patients and families like ours fighting similar battles. Being diagnosed with any kind of cancer is so hard and I want to do something about it. I have accepted this challenge knowing that I will be a part of something much greater than myself while supporting LLS, an organization that really makes a difference.

Why Your Donations Matter...
Every 3 minutes, someone in the United States is diagnosed with a blood cancer. These are not just statistics—these are families, friends, and loved ones facing the unimaginable
Over 1.2 million people in the U.S. are currently living with or in remission from blood cancers
Leukemia is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among children and adolescents under 20 years old
Although 40% of pediatric cancers are blood cancers, only 5% of cancer drugs have been approved for first time use in children
80% of childhood cancer survivors develop chronic health issues from treatment
LLS funds research to advance lifesaving treatments, drives advocacy for policies that protect patient access to treatments, and provides patients and families with hope, guidance, education and support.
LLS has helped advance 70% of the Blood Cancer treatment options approved by the FDA since 2017
LLS-funded research has led to pivotal discoveries in precision medicine and immunotherapies, which are now helping patients with other cancers and diseases such as Parkinson’s, Diabetes, and Alzheimer’s
By donating to LLS, we are helping improve the lives of countless individuals beyond blood cancer patients
