Dear Friends and Family, 

My name is Skye Vacanti and I am incredibly honored and excited to be nominated as a Student Visionary of the Year for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). I decided to take on the challenge of raising money for LLS because I want to make a positive difference in the world!

 All the money raised in my campaign will be donated directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Here are a few facts about the work they have been doing on the research frontlines:

• Of the 38 new treatments that were FDA-approved for blood cancer patients since 2017, 31 were funded by LLS, and each advance gets us closer to a cure

• LLS also supports research that repurposes drugs to help fight other cancers and other diseases such as Parkinson’s, Diabetes, and Alzheimer’s.

• LLS’s free Information Resource Center has served more than 75,000 patients and more than 1,000 clinical trial searches were conducted for patients in 2016 alone.

Every 3 minutes someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with blood cancer and every 9 minutes someone dies from blood cancer. LLS is working hard to make sure nobody loses their battle, and with your help, we can ensure that vital work continues to change lives for the better.
