I am so happy to have your support of this amazing organization and mission to find a cure for blood cancer! I encourage you to join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. Every nine minutes, someone in the US dies from a blood cancer. Children are especially impacted by blood cancers; 40% of pediatric cancers are blood cancers and in the last 40 years only 4 blood cancer drugs were specifically created for children. 

By donating to LLS, you support the many facets of LLS’s mission work from investing in groundbreaking research, providing education and support to patients, and advocating at the state and federal level for legislation to help those living with cancer. 

It is an incredible honor to be a co-candidate for the 2021 Students of the Year campaign. For seven weeks (January 7th-February 27th) select high schoolers will be fundraising across the country for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). One of my high school friends, who participated in this program last year, truly inspired me as she was able to raise an astounishing amount of money for LLS. It was eye-opening to see what a high schooler had the potential to do with this incredible non-profit.

Unfortunately, I think everyone can personally think of someone they know who is currently or who has been affected by any form of cancer. What makes LLS an amazingly unique organization is that 60% of all FDA approved drugs by LLS actually go on to treat other cancers and diseases --whether that's dimentia, alzheimers, skin cancer, or lung cancer-- the work that LLS does is not only beneficial to blood cancer but helps other diseases and cancers as well. 

TEAM IN FOR A CURE

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is the leading non-profit of cutting edge blood cancer reasearch and has invested nearly $1.3 billion worldwide since it was founded in 1949. Not only does LLS provide funds for research grants and medicine/treatments, but LLS also provides families with financial assistance and personalized support. The battle against cancer does not end for families even with extraordinary breakthroughs which is why there is still so much to be done.
