I am honored to say that I was nominated to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Colorado Student of the Year Campaign. Starting January 9th, high school students in Rocky Mountain area will compete for 7 weeks in order to raise funds for treatments, blood cancer research, as well as crucial support that helps patients battle cancer. My team and I are raising money to help make a change!

My passion for this cause was sparked due to family members and friends that have battled cancer, as well as the sad, happy and inspiring stories I have heard from my parents that both work with cancer patients. Before I was born, my grandma and grandpa fought and overcame cancer.  My close friend’s mom also battled breast cancer, and the support she received was crucial to her recovery.  Seeing multiple influential people in my life beat cancer is so inspiring for me and the support they received during their cancer treatment motivates me to ensure that others feel the same comfort.
